Parallel
Parallel is a Modern Mediterranean restaurant Based in Toronto, Ontario that was founded by the Ozery Brothers. With Sesame butter and an array of Mediterranean foods as regular staples in their childhood home, the three brothers were later driven to share their modern twists on Middle Eastern classics with the world.
Sesame butters made with only the sweetest and highest quality sesame seeds from Humera, Ethiopia, are the heart of the restaurant’s dishes and the wholesome tahini-based products they sell in their restaurant store. With the pursuit of expanding their business, and beginning to sell their sesame-based goods online, the brothers approached BexBrands for a refresh to their brand, as well as their product packaging.

With the sesame seed at the core of the brand, we wanted to make sure their new packaging truly encompassed the significance of the seed. For Halva, a beloved Middle Eastern indulgent — we wanted the packaging design to celebrate the small but mighty seed as it would be seen side-by-side with the specific ingredients used for each flavor. The significant difference in scale draws a dynamic visual interest that is accentuated by the bold underlying color palette for each SKU.
The Sesame Butters (tahini) made at Parallel consist of almost 100% toasted Humera sesame seeds. To really drive the point home on these packs, we went into the photo studio and explored various macro shots of organic wave patterns made solely of the seeds themselves. The packs draw emphasis to the intrinsic beauty of the seeds as they contrast the vibrant pops of color beneath.
Parallel’s wholesome spreads are made from raw, simple ingredients. Every spread is made of at least 75% sesame butter, producing a melt-in-your-mouth texture. For these packs we wanted to amplify the product’s taste appeal and showcase the rich creamy spreads smeared across individual crostinis for a hearty and delicious snack idea.
