Wall Therapy

WALL THERAPY

Interactive Promotional Booklet

Wall Therapy is a community-level intervention using mural art as a vehicle to address the public’s collective need for inspiration. During this weeklong festival, 11 street artists from across the globe painted 16 public walls throughout Rochester, NY. The intervention beautified Rochester’s urban landscape, ignited a community dialogue, and inspired Rochesterians to view the city in a proud, new way.

Money that was raised through Wall Therapy went towards its sister initiative, IMPACT! (Improving Access to Care by Teleradiology), who does its “therapy” by setting up diagnostic imaging sites in developing countries. The organization raises funds to provide teleradiology services within these developing communities and grow a network of volunteer radiologists around the world.

At Partners + Napier, we produced a promotional piece called “EXPOSED”—an interactive booklet that could be viewed traditionally, or with a smartphone to access embedded video content, documenting the Wall Therapy event. 200 copies were produced and released to people all over the world to raise awareness about the program.

Photographs were taken by photographer, Jonathan Rutherford, and internationally renowned graffiti photographer, Martha Cooper. Their images showcased the beautiful murals produced for the event, and the community’s interaction with them.
